Therapeutic massage encompasses a wide range of massage techniques aimed at addressing particular areas of discomfort or dysfunction within the body. The techniques used in a therapeutic massage session can include Swedish relaxation strokes, deep tissue, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and stretching and lengthening, among others. Therapeutic essential oils and ointments may also be used with your permission.
As a new therapeutic massage client, you will have an assessment before your session begins, which will be the foundation for your treatment plan. Not every session will be the same, as our goal will be to create change and facilitate healing. The primary goal of therapeutic massage is to alleviate pain, reduce muscle tension, improve range of motion and posture, and enhance overall function.
Therapeutic massage is often integrated into a comprehensive treatment plan in collaboration with other healthcare providers, such as physical therapists, chiropractors, and physicians. It can also be used as a standalone therapy to promote relaxation, stress relief, and general well-being.
Sessions(15 minutes added in booking for initial assessments) :
60 mins — $100

A relaxation massage session is based on Swedish massage strokes and various techniques that stimulate circulation and the removal of toxins, promote relaxation, alleviate muscle tension, and improve overall well-being.
Beyond its physical benefits, Swedish massage can also have a positive impact on mental and emotional well-being, helping to calm the mind and offering a sense of inner peace. This form of massage is the perfect go-to for self-care, stress relief, and unwinding after a long day.
These massages may include essential oils whose properties have been proven to promote relaxation.

To experience a specialized massage or bodywork technique, such as Craniosacral, Reflexology, Reiki, Lymphatic Drain, Functional Normalization, or Core Balancing, please contact Ashley for full service descriptions and scheduling.
Techniques
Swedish Massage — classic massage strokes
Deep Tissue — addresses deeper muscles (not necessarily deeper pressure)
Stretching/Lengthening — post-isometric relaxation, positional release, reciprocal inhibition, facilitated stretching
Reflexology for Feet — activating the nervous system through reflex points of the feet (has little comparison to a therapeutic foot massage)
Functional Normalization — a form of Craniosacral without essential oils that enhances the flow of cerebral spinal fluid
Cupping — silicone or acrylic cups are used to release congested fascia, increase circulation, and improve interstitial fluid flow
USED AS NEEDED IN MASSAGE SESSIONS
Myofascial Release — slow movements to release adhesions in tissues
Lymphatic Drain — loosens interstitial/lymphatic fluid congestion, promotes removal of toxins
Craniosacral Therapy — thought to detoxify tissues along the spine and improve posture
Core Balancing — realigns the pelvis with the sacrum through various stretches, improves posture
Essential Oils — therapeutic grade essential oils added to promote balance within the body
Reiki — a bodywork practice that channels spiritual energy to address physical and emotional imbalances in the body and spirit

While each session can be adjusted to your pressure tolerance, I tend to lean towards deeper pressure. Because my goal is to work with your tissues to provide relief, I listen- paying attention to subtle hints or shifts that tell me to go deeper or lighten up. A lot of people sometimes think that deeper pressure can mean more relief; the truth can be the opposite based on what your body is saying.
My flow is also rather slow; I’m waiting to feel the interstitial fluid, blood, and fascia move as it should in each area. The same goes for tendons and ligaments- there’s no forcing, here! We want real, lasting change: your body remembering how it’s supposed to be.

You’ll be welcomed inside the massage room, go over the forms you filled out, and address your main concerns. I cover the general techniques that I use and areas to be treated, so there won’t be miscommunication or confusion.
You’ll get cozy on the massage table, as I step out to prepare. Once I’m back in the session room, I check your physical structure, check for tenderness and pressure tolerance, and we’ll start your session.
Afterwards, I ask for your full feedback, suggest lifestyle and nutritional changes, and provide a short list of stretches that will help you maintain improvement.
Next, we’ll cover future sessions and answer any final questions you may have before you head out the door.
It’s an honor to be a partner in your self-care journey!

It generally takes the body three weeks to completely heal from a massage. Most clients schedule once every four weeks, but we can adjust that to meet your needs.
-
While a lot of my clients feel relief immediately, sometimes, it can take a week to several future sessions to create the change we’ve been working towards. My goal is always to aim for the finish line. I recommend following through with proper hydration, stretching, strengthening, and chiropractic care. I’ll do everything possible to get you relief, but you’ll definitely have homework.
Follow your PCPs recommendations first and foremost.

Reflexology is a holistic healing technique rooted in the belief that various points on the feet correspond to specific areas of the body. This ancient practice is based on the principle that applying pressure to these reflex points can stimulate energy flow, promote relaxation, and restore balance within the body.
Although Reflexology is not a form of massage, it has been found to be deeply relaxing and may provide relief from a wide range of ailments, including stress, pain, digestive issues, and insomnia. Whether used as a standalone treatment or as part of a holistic wellness regimen, reflexology offers a gentle way to nurture both the body and mind.
Reflexology is non-invasive and safe for people of all ages. During a session, only the feet and ankles are addressed, corn starch is used rather than lotion, and sometimes essential oils are used to aid in balancing the body. Clients remain clothed and comfortable.

Reiki is a spiritual healing practice that originated in Japan in the early 20th century. The word "Reiki" translates to "universal life energy" in Japanese, reflecting its underlying principle that energy flows through all living beings. This energetic technique is based on the belief that a practitioner can channel this universal life energy to promote balance, harmony, and healing within the recipient.
Reiki is not affiliated with any specific religion or belief system, and it can be practiced by anyone who has received proper training and attunement from a qualified Reiki Master. During a Reiki session, the practitioner places their hands lightly on or just above the recipient's body, working to facilitate the flow of energy and remove any blockages that may be causing physical, emotional, or spiritual distress. Reiki is non-invasive and gentle, making it suitable for people of all ages and health conditions.
The experience of receiving Reiki is deeply relaxing and rejuvenating, often described as a feeling of warmth, comfort, and peace. While Reiki is not a substitute for medical treatment, it is often used as a complementary therapy alongside conventional healthcare practices to support the body's natural healing process.
During a Reiki session, you will remain fully clothed. Sessions tend to range from 45 to 60 minutes.
